The fault line becomes clearer

                                          Agnostic, yes; atheist, no

Our culture leaders tend more and more to be atheist.  The Times of London is, as the estimable Dr. Oddie notes here.  Of course, our culture leaders are often mistaken as to certain basic facts.  For instance, they take Darwin for an atheist, whereas he was never more than agnostic.   Such carelessness concerning facts does not befit those laying claim to the authority of science.   I suspect the present generation of atheists are not so much scientists as followers of intellectual fashion.
