The Society of St. Pius X protests that reports of their rejection of the "Doctrinal Preamble," a document presented by the Vatican for the SSPX's approval as a first step towards regularizing the Society's status, are premature.
UPDATE: Fr. Charles Morerod, a member of the pontifical commission dealing with SSPX, has been appointed bishop of Lausanne, Switzerland, a diocese which includes the headquarters of the SSPX. Is this an element of Benedict's strategy for easing the SSPX into the Church?
